Calendar: May - July 2013
Our Biblical Purpose:
To "GO and MAKE Disciples". Matthew 28:19-20
Our Mission/Vision Statement:
To help students become fully devoted followers of Jesus.
"SURRENDER THE STOOL". Romans 12:1-2
Our Strategy:
Level 1: Fellowship/Small Groups = Bee Teams
Level 2: Discipleship/Small Groups/Worship = Catalyst
Level 3: Outreach/Serve/Ministry - Guided by adult leader, lay leader and/or Pastor
How we Measure Full Devotion:
Full devotion to Jesus is a journey that believers should be engaged in for the rest of their lives. We believe everyone has a next step in their journey toward full devotion to Christ and living a life surrendered to Him.
Grace - Accepting God's gift of grace for personal salvation and developing and maintaining relationships with unchurched/unbelieving friends to intentionally share the message of God's grace and to lead them in taking their next step toward full devotion to Christ.
Level 2 Catalyst
- Share Gospel Message through relationships with unbelievers
- Know Our Story - learn how to share story and spend time working on writing it
Growth - Using spiritual practices and discipleship classes to draw closer to the heart of God as we seek to become more loving, serving, integrity-filled people developing the character of Christ and becoming more like Him.
Level 2 Catalyst/BEE Teams
- 7 Irreducible Principles: Authentic Faith, Spiritual Disciplines, Moral Bound-
aries, Healthy Friendships, Wise Choices, Ultimate Authority, Others First
Groups - Experiencing true community for spiritual health and wellness that only happens in the context of relationships with other believers.
Level 1 BEE Teams
- Spend time weekly together eating, playing & discussion lead by adult leader.
- Groups are encouraged to meet outside of church as well.
Gifts - Using and developing our gifts and abilities to glorify God by serving in the church and/or community to build God's Kingdom.
Level 3 Training
- Lead by Pastor Melissa and/or an adult leader capable of facilitating and
explaining results. Small group leader will help students get plugged into
serving/ministry/outreach and continue to encourage them in using their gifts.
Generosity - Realizing that all we have is really God's and that all we really have is Him; therefore we cheerfully and obediently give of our time, gifts, and finances.
Level 2/Level 3 Catalyst
- Teaching series
- Give tithe to Westlake/giving offering to Compassion International Child
